Braveheart Uses Sustainable Business Model to Help Those in Need and Provide for Her Family

Meet Vidya Shelke, a 28-year-old mother who started her taxi service in times of crisis to support her family and help others too. She has assisted over 150 people in reaching home after getting stranded in the city.
With the absence of public transport like trains and buses, many faced issues to commute. She has ferried people to Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, Nagpur, Sangli, Aurangabad, and Satara, and also helped them arrange e-passes for their travel.
Vidya charges only Rs. 12 per kilometer one way, and doesn’t charge for the return journey.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, she said “I wanted to be a responsible citizen and yet earn a living. My social taxi service follows all norms of social distancing, the vehicle is sanitized, and I am more than happy to help anyone in need.” Vidya truly inspires us to think of the many different ways that you can to help yourself and others.
